Child-Parent Relational Therapy
In this 10-week group, parents are provided with skills to become therapeutic agents for their own children. Each week, parents come together to share their experiences in parenting as they begin to implement 30-minute per week play therapy sessions with their children. CPRT strengthens the parent-child bond, decreases problem behavior in children, increases relationship satisfaction, and decreases parental stress. Parents are taught skills to introduce and apply effective boundaries, respond empathetically to their children, and respond more appropriately to challenging behaviors. At the end of this group, parents will feel confident in their ability to apply these therapeutic skills and continue to strengthen their relationship with their child.
Depending on enrollment interest, these groups may be designed to place parents with similar aged children or special topics together. Groups typically range from 4-10 adults, and individual parents as well as couples are welcome to attend.
Cost: $50 registration/intake fee, $50 per session* (per family)
(Therapy toys can be provided for $100, or they can be purchased independently)

Parent Support Group
This group is designed to provide opportunities for parents and caregivers of children with developmental and physical disabilities, chronic conditions, and behavioral issues to come together and share support and resources with one another. Groups run for 10 weeks, with an option to continue if group members wish to continue, and typically have enrollment of 3-6 members.

Sibling Support Group
Support groups for siblings of children with special needs are formed with children relatively close in age, and focus on issues of self-concept, development of coping strategies, and facilitation of more effective communication. Groups run for 8-12 weeks, depending on age of child.

Autism Social Group
Small groups of 2-3 children run for 50 minutes, over the course of 10 weeks. Using facilitated play, children play games together and develop social skills while also learning emotional regulation skills. Children's individual sensory needs are taken into consideration, and the environment is accommodated accordingly. Careful consideration of multiple factors is involved in placing children in groups together.
